Cub Scout Promise
I promise to do my best
To do my duty to God and my country,
To help other people, and
To obey the Law of the Pack.
These meetings are usually held on the third Thursday of each month at 7pm in the Middle Gate School cafeteria, school schedule permitting, and are generally 60-75 minutes in length. All of the individual dens attend the Pack Meetings and it is required that at least one parent accompany each scout. Families are invited and encouraged to attend Pack Meetings. While the Cubmaster and Assistant Cubmasters run the meetings other Pack Officers, Den Leaders, and parents may be involved in the planning of these meetings.
Each Pack Meeting either has a theme or a particular function associated with them. Historically, the following events occur at one of our Pack Meetings – family cake bake/holiday party in December, Pinewood Derby in January, and Blue & Gold Banquet in March. Themes and guests for other meetings vary as we try to keep things fresh and introduce new ideas.
No matter where the Pack Meetings are held, the Pack may be held responsible for covering the cost of any injuries or damaged property that may ensue. We therefore adopt the policy of “If you can’t do it during school, you can’t do it here.” Seeing as we meet at the school, the continuity of rules makes it easier to keep the children from getting too boisterous. This, along with good parenting, will make for fun and safe activities for all.
