Join Pack 270 for our October pack meeting, where we'll have representatives from Newtown Hook & Ladder, Newtown Police, and Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Service!
Come learn about the work our local First Responders do to help our community, and get to see some of their equipment firsthand!
Note: We will be collecting Pack dues at this meeting!
If you are a new scout, we can only collect your pack dues ($112), as council dues must be paid online with your registration.
If you are a returning scout, we would like to collect both your pack and council dues (a total of $300). The pack will take care of sending your council dues and renewing your Scouting America registration.
Families are welcome! Each scout may bring a parent for free, but additional family members will be $5 per person.
LOCATION: The entrance to the youth camping area is on Putnam Park Road, very close to the intersection with Route 58. Proceed through the gate, up the road to the left past the memorial. You can park next to your tent site. We are in site 2, at the top of the hill in the field. See the attached map.
SCHEDULE: Rough schedule is as follows: Saturday 12:00 PM - May begin arrival 3:00 - Flag Ceremony, official start of the campout. 3:30 - Den meetings/activities 4:30 - Pack activities and games 6:00 - Dinner Dusk - Fireside activities 10:00 - Lights out!
Sunday After 7 AM - Hot Breakfast available Depart on your schedule
WHAT TO BRING:
Tent
Sleeping Bag
Ground pad or air mattress
Chair for fire program
Headlamp or flashlight
Reusable water bottle
Lunch on Saturday (optional, if arriving early)
Please, no personal fires, stoves, or fueled heaters! CANCELLATION/POSTPONEMENT: Right now, the weather looks fairly good for this weekend, with clear forecast on Saturday and lows in the 50s!If this should change, any call to postpone the campout until next Saturday will be made by Friday evening.
